Well, a lot has changed since my post in February, 2012. I now have two work stations/locations with dual monitors using IOGear KVM USB/DVI switches at each location.

First station has two Dell 24" Ultrasharps - U2410 & U2412M - with Zorro (production), PowerMac G5 (late 2005) and several test systems connected by an IOGear GCS1104 4-Port USB 2 DVI KVMP Switch with Audio (single monitor) and an inexpensive HDMI switch which makes for a simple dual monitor setup. (If you have an questions on this setup, please post in my Zorro Golden Build description. TIA.)

Second state has a Dell 27 Ultrasharp U2711 and a HP 24" ZR24W with Thunderball (Production) and several other systems (Son of Zorro, Batman and several others) connected by an IOGear GCS1644 4-Port USB 2 Dual View Dual Link DVI KVMP Switch with Audio which is capable of driving the Del U2711 at 2560x1440 resolution. (If you have an questions on this setup, please post in my Thunderball Golden Build description. TIA.)

Dell U2410. IPS FTW! :headbang:

I use a triple monitor setup on my Mac Pro -

Center, main monitor is an ACER H243H 1080p via DVI, as well as HDMI routed from my Xbox to my capture card.

Left side display is a Dell P2212H 1080p via DVI

and on my right side, I use an Envision VGA monitor, wired to a 4 way VGA switch.

I use it to swap between using it primarily as a third display for my Mac Pro, direct access to troubleshooting my home server, and swapping between a mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter for a Mac I might be working on, and a stray VGA cable for any PC that I might be working on.

i use a samsung sa350 (24"), and a modded apple cinema display(17' touch screen)

I use a Dell P2414H and a Dell U2412m both excellent monitors. The P2414H is 1920x1080 24" and the U2412m is 1920x1200 24".
They both have 1 display port, 1 VGA port and 1 DVI port. They also have a 4 port USB hub. They are both IPS monitors.
I would recommend them both but if I had to pick one I would go for the U2412m
