Im currently running F10 BIOS (Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3) with Yosemite.

What happens if I upgrade BIOS to UEFI, what do I need to boot Yosemite, or does it boot automatically ?

My System Extra folder contains:

org.chameleon.Boot.plist
smbios.plist
DSDT.aml
SSDT.aml

Both my older systems use Gigabyte Z68 motherboards which were originally shipped with legacy BIOS but were upgraded to UEFI. The copies of Yosemite on them were installed back on a GA-P67A-UD3R motherboard with legacy BIOS and was cloned using SuperDuper. The Yosemite copies all booted up successfully without doing anything special.

One thing though, as the systems have Mavericks / Yosemite / El Capitan on them, I boot using an Unibeast USB stick (one stick with Chimera to boot Mavericks / Yosemite, and one stick with Clover to boot El Capitan) instead of installing the bootloader onto the hard disk.

Just remember to set the correct settings in the UEFI after upgrading the BIOS, before attempting to boot Yosemite.
