Hi, everyone...
I'm new to the Hackintosh thing, having just got my 2-week old installation to boot from the hard drive this morning. With that accomplished, I'm about to tackle the rest of it, starting with audio.
I put MacOS 10.12.6 Sierra onto my HP Envy Desktop. It's a Core i5 4570 @ 3.2 GHz with 12 GB of DDR3 dual-channel RAM. I installed the OS onto its regular spinning-platter 2 TB hard drive.
DPCI told me that the audio chip is an IDT 92HD-66C3_65, and I found a codec for it at this site: https://github.com/acidanthera/AppleALC/tree/master/Resources/IDT92HD66C3_65 . However, there are 3 files there, not a kext (or whatever it's supposed to be.) Those files are: "info.plist", "PlatformsM.xml", and "layout3.xml". I have no idea what to do with them after I download them, and I'm hoping someone here can help me out.
I would also like to express my appreciation to this site and everyone who contributes to it. I used the tools available here to create this neat Hackintosh, which I like a lot.
Thanks for reading!
