Nice Tony, good work. If you can, could you please Add the I5 and the I7 edition? with 6490m and without?

(Also, a sub-subforum only for the ATI 6490m, since not all 4530s has it , of course if it's possible .)

It's from Spain but I think it's exactly the same than XU015UT and the model number probably only changes because the spanish keyboard.
Maybe it comes preinstalled with a different bios version also (mine is 68SRR Ver. F.05) but I don't think it matters too much.

The wireless on your unit is Ralink 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi y Bluetooth 3.0 + HS combinado.

Most of the models I've seen apparently have Atheros 802.11b/g/n WiFi (1 x 1) and Bluetooth 3.0 + HS Combo or Realtek 802.11b/g/n.

@titooo, just as a heads up, jimmy (a user on here) has that model, and ended up having to replace that card. Look in the notes section of the install guide for how he replaced it.

I just installed Lion and I can confirm my 4530s model XX967EA#ABE has an atheros AR9285 wireless card, the bluetooth also seems to work (I didn't transfer any file yet by the way).

Maybe the model of jimmy is a XX967EA#somethingdifferenthere and that's why he didn't have an AR9283 card...

I'm sure 4730s users can also pretty much benefit from this subforum.
This laptop has an i5-2410m, HD3000 & Radeon 6490m, Atheros 9285 WiFi + BT and RTL8111/8168B ethernet.
I've managed to get mine fully working except of BT
(using blueking' pack, same reboot/sleep problem) and switchable graphics
(having to disable it in the BIOS after playing some games in Windows)
Sleep works using the darkwake=0 flag. Also, using a DSDT with dual-link patch,
having the switchable graphics enabled makes the laptop hang at "IOAPIC ...".
Also, to circumvent some problems with hangs being caused by broken connectors, I've made a small AppleScript to disable BeamSync.
Let's hope we can make these laptops fully compatible hackbooks

I would say with most functionality, excluding DSDT and graphics things, yes. But those two definitely not.

I just installed Lion and I would like to confirm that my 4530s XX967EA#ABE bought in amazon spain also has the AR9285 wireless card, so I'm sure that it's basically the same than XU015UT but with a different keyboard

This is exciting! I have a 4430s but I'll have to wait until I get home to check the exact model number. blueking' thread was awesome, but knowing that Tony got one of these bad boys is really exciting.
