WD 2TB USB 3.0 HDD Not recognized in Mac OS 10.13.6 High Sierra

Hello Everyone,

I am currently attempting to load my samples and presets for music production onto my Hackintosh and it appears that the external drive is not appearing on the desktop or even in disk utility. I was looking to reformat the drive to Mac OS Journaled, but since the system is not recognizing it I cannot do that. My USB 3.0 ports work with USB drives and other peripherals (keyboard, mouse, etc.) The drive is receiving power from the port but no data is being transferred.

My setup:
GA Z370N Wifi
i7-8700k
16gb ddr4

I did not, my only solution was to format the drive on another mac to the GUID partition which then allowed my system to recognize it.
