Hello,

I have my background images in another internal SATA hard drive that is not the boot disk and sometimes the wallpaper or background image doesn't load and it just place the default one.

It is like the computer tries to search for the image before the second drive is mounted. The thing is that this doesn't always happens. For the last 3 months it never happened once with OSX10.8 and now after updating to 10.9 is happening again.

Any ideas?

Hi crcc23,

i´ve had the same thing happening to me too. Just place the folder with your backgrounds in Your private folder on the system-drive and OS X should find them on boot.
My guess is, SSDs are just too fast on boot and the system is up before the pictures are found, thus it reverts to default, as You suggested.

Cheers, Olli

try to put your desired wallpaper in your user picture folder and set it as a background from that folder,

Or

KillAall Finder from terminal.

I had this problem before and solved with of the above 2 ways
