Wake from sleep fan speed issue! High Sierra

I was having the same issue (fan behaving correctly upon first boot, but staying quite high and with 0 reads in HWMonitor after waking from sleep) and I found this post.
Updating the firmware of my Gigabyte Z370 hd3p to the latest version (F8) worked for me, now the fans work as expected after sleep and the sensor are read properly. Thanks for pointing me to the right solution!

I had an issue after wake on sleep, the fan sensors were not registering, after updating to F5, everything worked perfectly.
