Just upgraded to Yosemite. Everything work fine when I boot with -f.

When I boot in -v. I get VoodooPS2Mouse Version 1.8.11 loaded... Still waiting on root device..

It won't go past that point.

When I add flag -f everything works fine.

Any ideas?

Still waiting for root indicates a problem mounting the root file system. USB related if you're booting the installer USB. And SATA related if you're booting to your HDD. Not related to PS2.

If "-f" (ignore cache) fixes the problem, it indicates a problem with your kernel cache. Boot "-f", repair permissions, & rebuild cache. Pay attention to any errors that show in system.log related to the cache rebuild. If there is a problem, fix it.

Be aware that Yosemite requires kext-dev-mode=1 kernel flag for non-signed (or invalid signature) kexts to be included in the cache.

Tried repair perms and rebuild cache. No luck. I'm sure its something with these ktext as I've been tinkering around trying various things to fix it all. And I don't really know what I'm doing.

Did you check for a successful cache rebuild?

Maybe its this "IOAHCIBlockStorage.kext"

OK I got it to boot fine now after I removed AHCI_3rdParty_SATA.kext.

You need a kernel flag to use kexts that have invalid or no signature: kext-dev-mode=1
