Hi, everything is running fine, but am having problems with VMWare fusion telling me that my cpu is not a 64 bit cpu (I have an i7-3770k)

Has anyone come across this/found a fix? Not sure what is causing this. Everything else is working fine, and my computer is recognising the CPU correctly (I think at least)

Have you enabled Virtualization in the BIOS? I had an issue installing 64 bit Win 7 in Parallels 8, but enabling the virtualization at the BIOS level solved my issue.

3770K don't support VT-d. So not the best choice for virtualization.
You can try to set "Preferred virtualization engine" to "Binary translation" in the preferences of the VM.
3770 works fine with Fusion 5.0.

What version of Fusion are you running and what is your OSX version?

I use it regularly on my i7-3370K, do you have all of the virtualization extensions enabled in the BIOS?

While the 3770K doesn't support VT-d, that is a non-issue as Fusion doesn't support VT-d. Fusion only needs the other virtualization extensions, VT-d is for pass through of PCI devices...which isn't supported on hosted platforms like Fusion, that is only supported on ESX.
