Good day everyone, I have quite a problem which I need to solve.

I have (connected to a VGA splitter):
- a VGA projector
- a secondary VGA screen

Considering that there's no way I'm going to change both items, I've been looking for a way to get the MB video signal to work on a VGA connection.
What I did was connecting these 3:
HDMI (which is supposed to work) to minidisplayport <----> double female minidisplayport connector <----> minidisplayport to VGA (same converter which works on apple notebooks)

The result? No useful signal to the monitor.

What can be done? I absolutely need to find a way to get VGA signal out.. otherwise, no OSX for me, I'm afraid :(
(which is a shame since I've built the whole machine around this OS)

This is the last obstacle between me and my hackintosh :D help!

VGA won't ever work.

Hello,

I've got an adapter from DVI to VGA and it is working fine :)

Great to know!
The problem is: the DVI out's already used by my main monitor (with dvi+displayport input, so no direct HDMI to this main monitor will be possible).

If DVI can be turned to VGA, won't there be a way to convert the signal from HDMI to VGA?

Update: I've bought the cheapest HDMI to DVI adapter; when it'll arrive I'll check if it actually works :)
After that, I'll need a suggestion on a DVI to VGA converter which will work 100%.

Is there any actual difference between DVI->VGA adaptors?
Does anyone have any specific experience and/or brands or models to suggest?

Once again, thanks.
