The icons in launchpad are HUGE, and the larger your screen is, the larger the icons are. So, I remembered having found a way on the net (long time ago, and I don't remember where I found it) to reduce the size of them.
Just tested it on my Yosemite, and it also works! So for those who want to try it, just copy the next few lines into Terminal, press enter, that's it. To modify the size of the icons, just change the number into another one. Smaller number is smaller icon.
defaults write com.apple.dock springboard-rows -int 8
defaults write com.apple.dock springboard-columns -int 8
killall Dock
