Comments

Followed the installation guide to the letter, with the following MultiBeast settings.
http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...-el-capitan-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

Additional BIOS settings:
Set IGPU as primary graphics due to having a Radeon card. To access Clover bootloader to boot into Windows, I simply plug my monitor into the motherboard IGPU until booted into Windows, then plug back into GPU. More on the topic here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/308025-no-graphics-usb-audio-after-wake/page-24

Wifi/Bluetooth Adapter:
Plug and play, works right out of the box. I originally tried the recommended IOGear bluetooth adapter and recommended TP-Link wifi card from the CustoMac builds. Wifi was perfect out of the box, but bluetooth constantly cut out and required attention. Not reliable enough for keyboard and mouse use, so I returned in and bought the much more expensive, but 100% reliable option from OSXwifi.com. I can't recommend it enough if you are using Apple peripherals.

No Audio after waking from sleep:
Install CodecCommander.kext in S/L/E with KextBeast (kext attached to post). Details in this thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/174...ep-alc-892-el-capitan-clover.html#post1123489

USB 3.0:
Install FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_XHCI.kext to L/E with KextBeast (kexts attached to post). Thank you RehabMan!

Fix iMessage:
Followed the instructions here and it worked instantly:

Everything works!
I'm very happy and relieved, as this is my first Hackintosh build. Actually my first PC build. Learned a lot through this process, and found a new hobby to spend my money on :)

Optional nerdery:
I did an overclock after obsessive reading on the subject for about 2 months. It is a fun learning process, and I'm continuing to learn more. Very stable overclock at 4.7Ghz @ 1.32v. I made all adjustments in BIOS, and ran all tests in Windows 10 using Aida64 and monitoring voltages and temps with HWInfo. Works flawlessly in OS X so far with no stability issues or odd behaviors. Originally ran a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo cooler on my CPU, but when I started overclocking it wasn't getting it done anymore, so I upgraded to the Corsair H110i and temps are much better.

Have you solved black screen after wake up from sleep? I want to build a CustMac follow your hardware list, but I find many people report this video card has that issues in EI. Please help me.

Radeon cards are not working properly for waking from sleep in El Capitan. There aren't any exceptions that I know of. The workaround that works for most, myself included, is to set IGPU as primary in BIOS. The only downside to this is that your screen will remain black when booting up, until you reach the OS X login screen, where OS X switches from integrated graphics to the discrete GPU. Sleep/wake works perfectly. If I need to access BIOS or login to Windows via Clover bootloader, I just plug my monitor into the motherboard DVI port and I am able to see the Mobo splash screen followed by Clover Bootloader. It's a very easy workaround, and I rarely login to Windows so the small setback of unplugging the monitor is not really an issue for me.

For the record, I am seeing the full acceleration from the 280x in FCPX (the only reason I wanted a Radeon card over NVIDIA), and it is recognized by Lightroom and that application seems to just fly through rendering and the use of brushes.

If you're not using FCPX frequently, I would suggest you go with an NVIDIA card. It is pretty well documented that Radeon performs significantly better for FCPX, but everywhere else it probably doesn't matter as much. I read that NVIDIA drivers now have improved performance significantly in FCPX, but it's still not matching Radeon at this time. Do a search for FCPX GPU on here to learn a little more.
