Vega Frontier Edition on High Sierra

Great news here. Diving into a CL build for FCPX, Davinci Resolve and Capture One Pro after the New Year.

What are you all running these machines for - what programs, rendering, etc? Also curious people's experience with heat, power consumption, performance comparison with RX 580/Vega 56/Vega 64.

I've seen plenty of recent BruceX scores with all of them, which are great - a single 580 just beating out my 2x 7970s. But rendering with Neat Video in FCPX brings my machine to its knees. And I think the OpenCL improvements for DR and C1 would be pretty significant.

General smoothness of use otherwise? 56 significantly less power hungry than the 64 under load? Would like some real user impressions.

Thanks @dashingncool !

I went ahead yesterday and installed with your suggestions of the patched applegraphics + that link with iMac 19,1 and made it on the USB installer. This is the first time ever I have installed OS X in full 5K :) It seems to be just working so well. Thanks!.

On a funny note. When I installed it, I did the formatting in Disk Utility on the SSD (usual HFS+/Ext/Journaled/).. and went ahead with the installation. It only took about 4-5 minutes, I thought what? So it restarted and it had to install everything after reboot (like when you update an ipad or iphone progress bar on black screen). When it was done.. all my stuff was there left from Yosemite! I didnt need to do one thing to get going again with my apps and configurations. So much for that formatting :D

Simply a perfect upgrade :)

(well besides "Photos App" crashing, but I deleted the library and downloaded all my photos/videos again, and all is well now).

If anyone else is using RX VEGA, I can confirm that there is no mouse error too with Dell 5K (2xDP connection) - which was not cured in Sierra at any point.
I saw we have very similar hardware. Could you share your EFI folder? I'm having performance issues with FCP. Also my installation process has been very slow, pretty weird.

When I run dual VEGA cards, I get this message multiple times, and then it blacks out. Can anyone using X99 and dual VEGA share their EFI or Config files?

Here is what I'm running:
ACPISensors.kext CodecCommander.kext LPCSensors.kext
AppleALC.kext FakeSMC.kext SkylakeGPolicy.kext
CPUSensors.kext IntelMausiEthernet.kext X99_Injector USB 3.kext

Here is what I'm running:
ACPISensors.kext CodecCommander.kext LPCSensors.kext
AppleALC.kext FakeSMC.kext SkylakeGPolicy.kext
CPUSensors.kext IntelMausiEthernet.kext X99_Injector USB 3.kext

In clover settings graphics did you set
"Dual link" =1?

SkylakegrAphics?

Did not have "Dual Link" = 1. Will try.
SkylakeGPolicy.kext (prevents from loading the AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext) = I can remove and try.

Already had DualLink. Removing KEXT.

Removing SkylakeGPolicy.kext had no effect, Still the same.

This is my way to Inject FB Name “Kamarang”on the Vega 64 with DSDT。Add a new device“LTRE” to replace the “pci-bridge”。I tried to inject it with SSDT,but at last I failed.
