I brought the system to 4.4 and everything went fine today. I think my freezes were do to something else.

It seems like 10.8.3 should be released soon. Hopefully it will help us.

Sleep isn't a big deal. I shut it down. The startup is fast these days.

Try to disable wifi and remove the ethernet cable. Put the machine to sleep and let me know if it works.

Hi v310.

Thank you for the tips.
I think the problem is with my graphics card. I built another system with the same components except the graphics card and it works perfectly.
I think my trusty old XFX8800GT just won't quit, so to speak.

10.8.3 is out! Who is going to try it first? I will install it after work.

Did you use Update or Combo?

You could startup with Multibeast. It looks like there is a problem recognizing the CPU (?!?) Perhaps change your computer back to 3,1 instead of 5,X.

Just a wild guess.

Also, I would put your error on the 10.8.3 page. Maybe others can help.

Also from the update page: Updated audio drivers

  • You will have to reinstall the Patched AppleHDA using MultiBeast before rebooting.
  • If you use VoodooHDA, you will not need to make any modifications

So, I removed the GTX 660ti and now OSX is booting properly. Tried to remove all NVIDIA files from S/L/E and used Kext Utility to repair permissions, installed the GTX 660ti again and got the same error. Still trying to figure what to do now...
