I've tried pretty much anything but i can't get it to work.

Trying to create a new bootcamp virtual machine that uses my windows disk will result in vmware complaining that windows wasn't shutted down properly (even tho it was)

Trying to attach my hard disk directly to vmware as indicated here (https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2097401) will result in the virtual machine booting but vmware complaining that it can't boot from that drive

Has anyone managed to get a dual boot installation to work with vmware?

I would really like to get this to work if possible so i don't have to reboot every time i wanna do something on my windows installation other than gaming.

Thanks!

I boot from my Windows "Bootcamp" drives on both my Z370 and Z390 builds without problems and have been doing so for several years.

When creating your virtual machine, make sure that the "OS" is set correctly.
