Using Migration Assistant from Macbook Pro to my new Hackintosh.. Possible?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if it is possible at all to be able to use migration assistant from a back up of my macbook, to my new hackintosh?

I'm a musician and I have a lot of apps and plug ins that are installed on my macbook that would take some serious time to re install on the fresh machine.

Yes it should work. You can do it from a backup or directly from your Macbook.

How would I do it directly? I need to go out and buy a HDD haha

Did it work? I want to do the same in El Capitan.

You can put them both on the same network (wifi or hardwire) or go and get an external and do a Time Machine backup. Then go into the software in your utilities folder on your hack, launch it, follow the instructions (it will tell you to do stuff on your original computer as well) and let it do its thing.
