Hello ,

I'm going to buy a new screen to use it on my laptop
my laptop runs OS X 10.10.2 and it works perfectly
i have an intel HD4000 graphics card which i managed to get it to work

the question is ...

will my HDMI port work as i hope to or it needs any kexts to get it to work ?

thanks in advance

Just plug it in and see.
I have had real macs with mini display or mini dvi plugged into HDMI TV or DVI monitors. (need hdmi dvi adapter if using dvi )
Not always happy with results.
Borders, plugging and unplugging monitor, overscan etc.. which one is primary monitor etc..
On hacks I actually have better luck.
This was using dvi out with HDMI adapter.
Movies are ok either way... sometimes resolution may be odd for OS X things.
A lot depends on TV used.
I had a 740 p TV that worked at 1080 P... when hooked to hack
You probably will not need kexts...you may have to mess with boot settings...which display first.
The best way is HDMI out to DVI monitor.
This one thing windows does better (hdmi out)

Pick a slow day at Best Buy and bring your own cable and try out..
