Oh, and I just tried the same thing using the PCIe/HDMI and the card initialized without issues with the same driver. Just need the USB ports back now. BTW, here's the strings command and output ran after VRS8 initializes:

Not sure why the USB ports wouldn't be working. Post ioreg output. Check System Information.app. Run Console.app and see if there's any errors in any of the logs. Search tonymacx98.com and insanelymac.com and whatever for clues. I have the same problem with my USB. Guess I'll try looking into it myself.

On my Hackintosh with VT-d and dart enabled, the USB ports of the motherboard XHC don't work. The controller appears with the list of ports in IORegistryExplorer.app but doesn't detect connected devices.

But the USB ports of the Thunderbolt controller work. Use a USB Type-C to Type-A adapter. Use a Thunderbolt 3 Dock or a USB-C dock if you need more ports. If you have a display with multiple USB ports then use that as a dock.

Wait... so there's no way of getting VRS8 to work without killing all the USB ports on my machine? I just got everything working and stable... OH NO. And I don't have a thunderbolt card to make more ports. And wouldn't really want to put the extra hunni for one if the pcie card works. Crap

Well I have to see how my machine does when I get home.

I got USB back but with another caveat. So to get USB I had to go into CloverConfigurator>Devices>USB and check "Fix Ownership". That solved that problem.

Now to the caveat - I get a KP when trying to copy my EFI folder out of the EFI partition and save it on desktop. Finder attempts to copy the file but hangs :beachball:

almost immediately and restarts (violently).

Hey Guys, thanks for responding. I also enabled Vt-D on my Bios and remove the Dart=0 Settings in clover.plist.
Not working here too?! Did you guys use the Lilufamily.kext or something else in you setups?
Please enlighten us ;-) thanks in advance

I do not. Not at the moment anyway. In fact, the only kext I have in my C/k/o is FakeSMC. All others are in my /L/E. It seems that you and @VRS8User have the same board, which may behave differently than the Z270 board that I have. If you read through the last 5 or so pages of this thread you'll notice that while some progress has been made, it's at the expense of a few major set backs, such as loosing USB connectivity. I'm not so sure that this is a compromise that I'm willing to have right now. We're still working out the bugs, collectively.

Well thanks for sharing these informations. I updated my build Signature, so you see we are not on the same Board, im on a Asus Prime Deluxe. But maybe the x299 Chipsets behave different?!? The loosing of your USB connectivity is not a compromise, so there will be a fix for you too...lets get this all fixed guys...teamworkwise!!!
