I'm getting ready to build a hack for a friend based on z390 so this is welcome news! I had a feeling you guys were missing a step. There you go. I now have a working VRS8 and it didn't seem to break anything. Though that remains to be seen. No USB problems, but I already had a custom USBMap.kext.
I'm so happy! Thank you @joevt !!! And thanks @luckyal
I somehow missed the not dropping DMAR step...
No need to modify VRS8AudioDriver.kext.
I'm beyond elated!
Apologies for my errors. Will use the code you provided and re up some info tomorrow for you. Thanks again for your continued support on this...Maybe the "same leap" works with the PreSonus - did you try those instructions?
No one has posted the information for the PreSonus setup yet or found the log messages that point to an error. Maybe logging uses a special method, so maybe you need to ask them how to enable logging to discover what the problem is with the driver.
Like so?Your IOREG.txt and Kextstats.txt files appear to be .rtf files. If you use TextEdit.app, remember to use the "Make Plain Text" command in the Format menu.
For ioreg, please use the command described in #47 (so all the properties are extracted and the width is not truncated - because I can't see the id of the device that is connected to Thunderbolt)For kextstat, include everything so we can see the status of the entire set of loaded kernel extensionsCode:
ioreg -lw0 > ioreg.txtCode:
kextstat > kextstat.txt
