I'm a newb, making my first Hackintosh out of a refurbished HP Elite 8300. Because it has no Wifi, I added a USB Wifi thing:

TP-LINK TL-WN722N Wireless N150 High Gain USB Adapter, 150Mbps

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704045

I plugged the TP-Link into a USB port in the back. (I tried a thumb drive in the same USB port and it mounted.) I found from TP-Link the installer for this, TL-WN722N*EU_US_ES)_V2_V3_170912_Mac, and ran it. (I'm pretty sure I have the V2 rather than V1 version of their device.)

After the restart, a little icon appears in the top-right row of widgets. It has a red X on it, indicating it is not happy. When hovering over that icon, it says that it is:
TP-Link Wireless Network Utility
Utility Version 5.0.5.b8 (2017/08/04)
When I click on that icon, it says
"No Wireless NIC Plug In"

My High Sierra install of this box is brand-new, and maybe is incomplete. I was uncertain what to pick in Multibeast, and so may have erred on the side of installing too few things. (The computer already seemed mostly working and I did not want to break it.) Have I forgotten to install something via Multibeast?

I bought the nano version
TP-LINK TL-WN725N

and installed the respective driver

mine worked right away
