Yep, look for the chipset that runs the wifi adapter and whether there's OSX support for it.
I have ASUS USB-N10 that works just fine with Realtek drivers.

Just like any other Realtek RTL8188CU/SU/RU/ and Realtek RTL8092CU/SU - based adaptor.
