USB Wi-Fi Dongle Detecting Networks but Not Connecting

HP 6460b Laptop on 10.10.5 using Clover - Everything other than Wi-FI is working perfectly. I can't get a hold of a whitelisted Wi-Fi card so I am using this... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01CDVFO1S/?tag=tonymacx86-21

The dongle software installs fine and detects networks no problem. When I input the network key it does not connect 80% of the time, it just does nothing after inputting the key. When it does connect it says connected, there's no internet. It is doing this for every network I have tried to connect to.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately I don't have another USB dongle to try to try and rule out the dongle being at fault.

Don't bother with USB WiFi. You can install compatible WiFi in your 6460b.

I can't find one in UK. I would need to pay to get one shipped from Amazon US. I suppose I'll have to if I need to. But do you have any idea why the USB Wi-Fi doesn't work?

EDIT: Found one on eBay! Ordered. Hopefully it works without any fuss!
