It's also a workaround, but I didnt change anything but adding an USB2 Hub to one of my Mainboard USB3 connectors, connect keyboard+mouse there and the " Wait_a_minute_till_u_can_type" problem dissapeared.

chrizzle's observation is interesting - i wonder what's going on ?

i noticed that if you switch on screen sharing, you can remotely control the mouse straight away.
on some occasions, the mouse on the real screen turned into a frozen beachball - but was still working via screen sharing.

i wonder if its something to do with the window server ?

has anyone tried the HDMI Audio patch via plist injection ?
if so, does it make any difference?

reading around, it looks like the same probs appear with mavericks etc. so i'm considering ditching this card

ah thanks for getting back to me, i don't use the HDMI audio (don't use the built-in audio either) just just don't like unsolved problems :)
i tried the ssdt-1 patch but the machine stuck in the spinning booting screen. verbose seemed to stop after the cpu definitions ssdt so maybe there's a clash on my particular set up.

in the end, i've just removed the HD Enabler1.kext and the machine's doing what i need.

thanks for your explanations

Hey guys, I figured out the cause and the fix.
Put your mouse and keyboard in a usb 2.0 port.
the cause (for me) was a graphic driver interfering with the usb ports.
