huh, I am actually saying that I have no problem;

OK, but you were the one that wrote "I am still struggling on this one.".

The only doubt I have is the following:if I don't apply the patch, could I face an issue wth future updates?

No one can predict the future.

It is possible your ports are not actually working correctly, but you didn't test them properly so are unaware of it.

If you want a check, read USB guide, post #1, "Problem Reporting".

Not sure what you mean by "these USB changes".

Your problem is your system is matching against the port injector for iMac14,2.

You need to make sure your DSDT (via Clover patches or manual patching) uses EH01/EH02/XHC, not EHC1/EHC2/XHC1.

The DSDT patch I made was via PJLAMs "all in one" DSDT patch for my board. I would assume those changes are in there, but will confirm this evening.

You know what they say about "assume"...

I have Gigabyte Z170X-UD5 TH and Intel i5 6500 which would I need?

The Z170 chipset is 100-series. Keep in mind the port limit patch is only for temporary use (port discovery). You use it only to discover which ports need to be in your custom SSDT for USBInjectAll.kext.

Happy to report after FakePCIID and XHCIMux, all is well with my USB ports. Thank you for pointing me to that thread. Had absolutely nothing to do with Sierra.

Best regards.

Finally got all USB 3.0 ports working.
Works with Asus Z97 Pro.
Thanks RehabMan.
