It should be set to USB3 (3). All 4 x ports served by the USB3 header should be set with connector type 3.

Another Way!

When USB2 or USB3 are not working at the same time with XchiPortLimit on or off.........launch Hackintool:

1. TEST all your USB ports starting with a USB2 thumb drive one by one inside each USB slot while observing the recognition(lit green) inside Hackintool under usb. (if all USB2 are recognized.... Then use a USB3 thump drive and do the same inside the blue/red USB ports only and observe the recognized ones.

2. Select all the ports that didn't light up green inside Hackintool then remove them by clicking the minus sign on the bottom of Hackintool.

3. Take a screenshot or a Pic of your recognized ports as you might have to include them as well in step 6 prior to exporting.

4. Get to the kernel page of your plist on your Efi and toggle the XchiPortLimit quirk to on or off... The opposite of which ever state it was in, also take a Pic of the order of your Kexts (this can affect booting) .... Save the plist.... Close all then restart.

5. Once you're back up, relaunch Hackintool and repeat step one to capture the usbs that were not lighting up green before.

6. Once Hackintool recognized the new green ports then compare the sreenshot or the Pic you took in step 3 and select all the ones that did not light up in step 1 & 5, then hit the minus sign on Hackintool. Keep in mind that you can have only 15 usb totall and SS (usb3) while HS(usb2). Once you've choosed the desired 15 you can hit the export arrow and place the USBports kext inside your Kexts folder n remove the USBinjectall Kexts Save and restart.
