I have been searching for an external enclosure to put my NVMe M.2 drives so I could copy and prepare for installation without having to have them installed in a PC. Of course there is no problem with a 2,5" SSD but now most of us are using M.2 drives.

All (cheap) encloures I found on Ebay and other places do not support NVMe drives. So don't be fooled. I understand it has something to with licensing for NVMe (?). Anyway here is an enclosure that works very well.

I put a Samsung EVO 970 500GB in the enclosure and get ca. 950 MB/s read and write via USB-C. Not bad! Works great on Mac and Windows. The nice thing it includes a cable to attach to USB3 also (compatible down to 1.1). Also a very small, cool and compact external USB drive to replace your USB external drive.

Here is the enclosure: https://www.raidsonic.de/products/e...cases_m2_m_sata/index_en.php?we_objectID=5666

I bought this in Norway: here
In fact it was cheaper here than on Amazon. You can probably get it cheaper some other place.
