I've had some success putting together my first build, using this amazing forum.

    Board: z97mx Gaming-5 (running Bios F5)
    CPU: i5 4690k
    Graphics: Intel HD 4600
    Ram: Ballistix Tactical 16GB
    Wifi: TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 N900
    OSX: El Capitan
    Using: iMac 15,1 profile

The system worked pretty much out of the gate, and post-install was simple enough. Only major issues are lack of HDMI Audio (not worried about his for now, as I have decent enough speakers) and no recognition at all of anything plugged into the board's USB 3.0 ports.

I have ignored the HDMI issue for now. To fix the lack of USB 3.0 support, I installed FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext, which I grabbed from RehabMan. The USB 3.0 ports now show up in System Info, with listed speeds as 5Gbps as expected:

However, in speed tests (using BlackMagic, as well as just through everyday use) all my USB 3 devices are working only at USB 2.0 speeds, maxing out at 60Mbps.

Have been trawling around the forums for people using my board and El Capitan who have had similar issues, but not founda solution that has worked.

Recently tried matt77303's great El Capitan USB issues suggestion, but it made no difference to performance.

Anybody out there faced down something like this and have any suggestions?!

    Thanks.

I'm having the exact same issue in Sierra. Did you ever figure this out?
