Has anyone tested just running the install file from El Capitan and seeing how it goes? It looks like some people are going new install which I have no problem with, but I wonder how easy the upgrade would be.

Scary...LOL

Try it on a cloned drive maybe...

Yeah I might just do it off my backup

I will be trying to update my El Capitan install tomorrow. Most likely something will go wrong at some point because it's a big update. Smaller updates have been fine. I will be reporting back tomorrow. I have my El Capitan USB ready if something goes wrong. ;)

I haven't tried the upgrade method but I'm pretty sure it would work fine- definitely test on a backup.

For me the updating to major updates have not been successful yet. I have done most of the things i need if something goes wrong. Will be updating first thing in the morning. Or at least trying :)

Make a 10.12 folder put FakeSMC and Ethernet kexts in 10.12 folder you've created. Make sure SIP is fully disabled. Run the app and you should be fine. Make sure that clover is updated.

I did a clean install on my test rig all went ok apart from audio but managed to get that working, iMsg/F-Time et etc all working
