Upgrading my i5 4670 Build

Hello all!

I have been running my hackingtosh for several years now, and recently started noticing my music productions are getting to big to handle for my i5 4670. Does anyone have some good advice for upgrading my CPU? for example to an i7 4790?

Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3
Intel Core i5 4670
Crucial Ballistix Tactical LP 8 GB DIMM DDR3-1600
Cooler Master 650M
Intel Graphics HD4600

Yes, get the 4790 or K version of that. You should also add more ram too. Why only 8GB ? It should be in dual channel mode. Either 2 x 8 GB or 4 x 8 GB would be ideal.
