Clover 5095, updated kexts via Clover Configurator. Run Catalina installer, reboot, select Install macOS from System and get an immediate freeze.

What does this all mean?

Really appreciate any help.

Solved. Needed to disable CFG Lock.

I updated my z390 Designare BIOS to latest (F9j) so that I could disable CFG Lock (previous version didn't have the option), and then boot was fine.
