Hi @Pavo
Hope you had a lovely holiday break.

Would it be a good time to follow up with you on this RX580 issue?

Richard
Sure, but you might want to update your system specs on your profile so I know exactly what you have.

Hi @Pavo

Ok, No problem, I've tweaked those system specs on my profile page.

May I provide any additional information that may be helpful?

Richard

Hi @Pavo

Thank you for the continued assistance.

The boot sequence (post clover boot menu) froze up.

I've attached photos of where it got hung up.

Richard

Try this EFI folder

Hi @Pavo

Thank you for the continued assistance.

I replaced the EFI folder completely.

Clover boot screen shows on two of the three monitors.
The computer boots to Mac OS.
Only one monitor works, the same DisplayPort > to DisplayPort-DVI Adaptor >to DVI monitor.
The "working" monitor shows "digital snow" during the Apple loading phase of the bootup.
Then the log in screen appears.
No USB or mouse or Keyboard functions.
I use Apple Remote Desktop to log in to my user account.
Still, only one monitor shows an image,
But I can see the other two monitors in Apple Remote Desktop, with their respective files on their desktops.

May I provide you with any additional files to assist in discovering a solution?

Richard

Grrrr, those stupid OEM manufactures are horribad. Let me think about this for a few and will get back to you.

Hi @Pavo

OK, thank you for the assistance, sir.

Do you think there is a path forward with the RX580 in the Z800 or should I be looking to RMA it back to Amazon?

If I have to stick with Nvidia Its not the end of the world.

I just thought that the RX580 would be a seamless upgrade that would allow me to upgrade to Mojave in this rig... Not so much.

I really do appreciate your assistance

Richard

I don't think its a GPU issue, I think its the way the HP DSDT is setup. This doesn't happen when using Nvidia because the web drivers allow any combination of display ports, where as Apple drivers for AMD GPUs don't. I am continuing researching this system.

Hi @Pavo

Sounds like this HP system is just not Hack OS friendly.

Guess I may need to re-assess working with this Z800 machine and potentially build a "proper" system like yours. ;-)

Richard
