Hi guys,

I'm looking to possibly upgrade to an 802.11ac BCM94352
I'm currently using an Atheros 9285, however I have no 5GHz band

My questions are:

1- Is it possible to get the 5GHz band going on the Atheros?
2- If I upgrade to the Broadcom, will the Probook BIOS accept the card
3- Can I use the existing antennas?
4- Is it a paid in the %^$%# to switch or can a novice do this by following a simple guide

Thank you in advance
And thanks for all the awesome info and support in the past

The 4530s has a BIOS whitelist.

Thanks Rehabman

which wifi are you using?
Are you aware of a 5GHz fix for 9285?

Awesome thank you
Have played around with a BCM94322HM8L?
If so any ideas if it works natively?
Thanks

It works natively with OS X, but your 4530s whitelist will not allow it.

Would appreciate your help again Regabman
I purchased the 9280 from eBay Stuck it in the 4530s, and booted to windows 7 (driver signing off)
Upon turning on, a HP error says the card is incompatible and will be disabled and to hit enter
Once in windows, there is an UNKNOWN PCI EXPRESS device which i assume is the card
However I can't force-install the drivers that come with the EEPROM pack

Do you have any tips? Do the steps above sound familiar to you?

The card must be HP branded as an AR5B195.
