Hey all,

I haven't upgraded my hackintosh in a long time and it's currently just too damn sluggish for my everyday needs (music production, video editing, gaming). I've already began my search for my first Solid State Drive which I know is the right start but was just wondering if anyone would be able to recommend some nice upgrades for my current system to help me get to a smoother everyday workstation?

My specs:

8GB Corsair XMS3 PC3-12800U CL9
EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti SSC AC3-Bundle, 1024MB DDR5.
Gigabyte Z77-DS3H, Intel Z77, ATX
Intel Core i5-2320
Seagate Barracuda Spinpoint HD103SJ 1TB SATA II

The SSD I'm looking at ordering is the Samsung 850 Pro 256GB

Thanks a million!

Shane

Take a look at the GTX 1050 Ti 4GB. Other than the SSD upgrade the next best thing you can do to improve gaming and video editing. You could also add a 2 x 8GB ram kit or buy another 8GB DIMM (Corsair XMS3). Always best to run your ram in dual channel mode. Check the Gigabyte QVL to see which specific ram modules will work. Next best thing to do would be to upgrade to an i7-3770. Not sure if that would be within your budget.
