Just saw this on AVID/PT Facebook page, so thought I'd share. Since Digidesign/Pro Tools/AVID has been doing this probably the longest in commercial rooms, suggest reading for "best practice" for other DAWs as well. ENJOY!

FWIW, just to clarify for those of you who are relatively new to FW + Mac:
  • The "holy grail" chipset on firewire PCIe cards continues to be Texas Instruments (TI) for best success & working out of box
  • The recommended chipsets found in firewire drive enclosures for Macs has long been the Oxford family of chipsets (see AVID link in thread starter for tested & approved chipset model #'s)
