Hi guys!...I need help!!!.....I was updated to 10.9.2 from 10.9.1 by AppStore installer, and Combo Update too... and I find issues with Facetime and PhotoBoot, Slype...etc.... Anyone having camera issues or problems with Facetime or PhotoBoot...? I have the Logitech Webcam C210, this camera works out of box in 10.9.1 and now the video doesn't work but microphone does...the micro is working.

Many people says that this update gives cameras iSight issues!!!!!.... Is there any kext that we can change in Extensions from the 10.9.1recovery to make works???...Could I do something??.. Thank you for your possible answers...

Having the same issue as well. isight on Apple Cinema display is no longer working after update to 10.9.2. Microphone on the camera still works fine. The camera was working fine with 10.9.1. I haven't found a solution yet.

Maybe worth trying CameraControl to see if that can see the camera?

I have the same problem, after update to 10.9.2 the camera isn't working, only microphone. I use a Logitech C310, with 10.9 and 10.9.1 work perfectly with FaceTime, Photo Booth etc..

When i open FaceTime or any camera app, in the console start this log, and don't stop if i don't unplug the camera:

26/02/14 14:35:47,432 VDCAssistant[2258]: AVF warning: failed to get a service for display id: 4128828

26/02/14 14:35:47,445 VDCAssistant[2258]: Client is attempting to access a display by index (1) instead of display ID.
    26/02/14 14:35:47,862 com.apple.launchd[1]: (com.apple.cmio.VDCAssistant[2258]) Job appears to have crashed: Abort trap: 6

    any solution?

    Thank's

Maybe if we replace some or any kexts in the Extension folder of the Library System in Mac with the older 10.9.1 recovery diles...we can it works fine!!, because the webcam or isight detects the audio, the audio works...but not the video...

Do you Know about the kext that includes propierties of the isight or webcam??...

I've resolved the issue, the problem for me is the app AirParrot that mirror my Hacintosh to Apple TV. The kext video and audio driver of this app, seem to be incompatible with 10.9.2 update and broken the webcam. If you have this or a similar application remove them.

I uninstalled the app and the kext, with this terminal commands:

    • sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/APExtFramebuffer.kext
    • sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AirParrotDriver.kext
    • sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.squirrels.AirParrot.plist
    • sudo rm -rf /Applications/AirParrot.app
    • sudo rm -rf /Library/Extensions/APExtFramebuffer.kext
    • sudo rm -rf /Library/Extensions/AirParrotDriver.kext

After the commands, reboot the system and try your webcam, my Logitech C310 now works like a charm! :headbang::headbang:
