Hi everyone,

I'm french, so sorry if my english is not perfect.
I need to upgrade my old 2012 hackintosh build which works very well with Capitan to Mojave.
Actually, i'm a video editor and I need it for new workflow decided with coworkers.

My current build is :

Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H
CPU : Intel Core i7 3770 - 3.4 GHz - 4 coeurs
Graphic card : Nvidia Geforce GT640 2048mo
Ram : 16 Go 1333MHz DDR3

The real question is about my motherboard and the graphic card.
I know that I need to change my graphic card because of the non compatibility with Mojave, plus it's a very old one.
I'm actually hesitating with XFX ATI Radeon RX 590 1600MHz 8 Go PCI Express and Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 580 8 Go 1366 MHz PCI Express.
I just verified and it should be okay to work with my motherboard. But will it work with Mojave ?
And the first question is will my old motherboard work with Mojave above all ?

Thank you in advance for your answers guys !

Thank you for your fast reply !
And can ask you which one of these two graphic cards would be the best ? I read somewhere that the sapphire's graphic card are easier for the os installation, is it for real ? Does it means that the XFX models doesn't have the same avantage ?

Thank you ;)

I have no experience with either graphics card so cannot offer an opinion.

Some but not all XFX cards use a different VBIOS from reference cards and this can lead to problems.

It's a much safer bet to choose the Sapphire RX 580. The performance is not much different from the 590 and it's going to work OOB if you have Lilu and WEG kexts installed. The XFX RX 590 may work but some of the 590s don't. I've never attempted to use one.

Thank you for your comment. That's what I was reading too. I'll take the Sapphire RX 580 one. Not so expansive though.
