I did it in this way:

1.) Optional, but recommended - Create a bootable backup of your system (for example with Carbon Copy Cloner) and make it bootable by copying the EFI partition.

2.) Download and save on your system:
- Lilu.kext / https://github.com/vit9696/Lilu/releases
- IntelGraphicsFixup.kext / https://sourceforge.net/projects/intelgraphicsfixup/
- KextBeast / https://www.tonymacx86.com/resources/kextbeast-2-0-1.310/

3.) If using SwitchResX then disable SwitchResX launch on boot.

4.) Install Sierra update 10.12.5 (from the App Store)

5.) Let the system reboot and wait... wait... 10-20 minutes... the screen remains black

6.) If the HD led does not blink anymore switch the hackintosh off and on (with the power button) and wait until the boot screen freezes. Wait 1-2 Minutes longer before the next step.

7.) Switch the hackintosh off and on (with the power button) and set an invalid ig-platform-id in Clover during the boot process
"Options" ==> "Graphic Injector"
"Fake ID": 0x12345678

With the invalid ig-platform-id the system should boot (no hanging on the boot screen anymore).

8.) Install the "Lilu.kext" and the "IntelGraphicsFixup.kext" with KextBeast and reboot. The system should boot without an invalid ig-platform-id.

9.) Optional if you want more control over the display resolution, you can install the "mac-pixel-clock-patch-V2":
- download mac-pixel-clock-patch-V2 / https://github.com/Floris497/mac-pixel-clock-patch-V2/blob/master/CoreDisplay-patcher.command
- disable SIP with Clover Configurator ==> Rt Variables ==> CsrActiveConfig=0x67 (remember the original value - like 0x3)
- reboot
- run the mac-pixel-clock-patch-V2
- reboot
- enable SIP with Clover Configurator ==> Rt Variables ==> CsrActiveConfig=0x3 (the original value)
- reboot

10.) Use SwitchResX to select your wanted resolution and enable SwitchResX launch on boot.

It worked for me. I updated from high sierra to mojave and I had a problem with the res. I have a LG UM68 monitor and now I see that my refresh rate is 60hz and everything works fine. Thank you.
