Thought I should leave y'all with an update:
Tried a million things and then extra-thoroughly returned to some to make sure I hadn't missed anything, here's what I did to fix it:
-I was using a VGA cable, every boot combination didn't work including "GraphicsEnabler=No"
-Switched to HDMI and used "GraphicsEnabler=No" and it worked great. Apparently VGA is a no-go even when trying to boot on this MB.
Now I'm stuck trying to boot my Lion drive post-install. GraphicsEnabler and Verbose got me through the boot to a blue screen, shortly followed by grey apple screen with mouse working but stuck here.
