Really baffled by this one. Attempting to clean install lion via Unibeast to GA-H67-USB3 with updated (f7) bios and all bios settings adjusted to hack ideals. HDMI out, or VGA out, doesn't seem to make a difference. Tried Uni in every single usb port. No difference.

Unibeast USB drive boots fine from bios, but once selected in Chimera/Chameleon or whatever, will not boot past USBMSC Identifier in -v -x mode.
Hangs up, then I get this:

Waiting on <dict ID="0"><key>IOProviderClass</key><string ID="1">IOResources</string><key>
IOResourceMatch</key><string ID="2">boot-uuid-media</string></dict>
still waiting for root device

I have only GA-H67 MB, i7 3.4 2600 CPU, optical drive, 4gb corsair ram, and hard drive in.
-usb keyboard
-usb mouse
-usb (unibeast drive)

What in the WORLD is going on? I've search all comments for the above text to troubleshoot, no solutions posted work.

Dude, I have the exact same problem!

My rig is different, but it should still work.

Can anyone offer some guidance?

Hi, i´ve got the same problem with my config wich is similar to yours ParkerJoe.
I had this behavior with the F5 BIOS Version. After flashing to F7 nothing changed :(

Hi,

Be sure to plug your sata drive in an intel sata 2 (blue) port. Also please check that your usb stick is plugged in a USB2 port (black).

I believe the latter was the reason I had the same error message.

Re: Unibeast USB won't boot past Chimera GA-H67N-USB3

Was using usb 2.0 already, switched SATA from white to blue port, although so far it has made no difference, still stuck booting from the USB (Unibeast) drive.

Interesting thing:
The "Waiting on "uuid" etc.. / still waiting for root device" hangup during the boot actually only happens in safe mode (-x). When I simply boot verbose without safe mode the bootloader actually gets FARTHER down after saying "got boot device = IOService...etc" creates a few more RAM commands (half a screen down), and then gets stuck here:

BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 no such file or directory

Re: Unibeast USB won't boot past Chimera GA-H67N-USB3

Hi Guys - had similar problems - first updated bios to a version that is supported. Then I had to run unibeast with GraphicsEnabled=NO - only that helped me with getting to and through installation. Good luck I know it is frustrating.

Re: Unibeast USB won't boot past Chimera GA-H67N-USB3

Still no luck, already updated bios, tried all sata and USB ports, graphics enabler no, -x -f pcrootuid:1, rboot to get to Unibeast (even thought it is not necessary, computer boots fine straight to unibeast).

I think I am giving up on this clean Lion install and reverting back to the only thing I know that works so far for me--10.6.3 install disk, and then upgrade to 10.6.7. 10.6.8 gave me just as much trouble as Lion has.

Too bad because I am building a Hack mack mini and need my single PCI slot for a firewire port to use an outboard audio interface--this means that I can't install a graphics card and HD2000/3000 is my only option, and I gather HD3000 only works with Lion. Native resolution on SL with no graphics card is 1024, pretty crummy for trying to run a full-blown audio workstation and see an entire mixer on the screen.
I think I'm S.O.L. unless I leave the mini build for a full on tower and new motherboard.

Any hack compatible mini ITX motherboards with firewire or 2x pci slots?
