I posted a question in post # 50 but received no response from anyone. Can anyone tell me how to download mavericks or from where to download it? I used the appstore and it tried to upgrade my system, but then it said that I could not complete my purchase. I have an imac 4.1 with intel core duo and a macbook 2.1
I would appreciate if someone can tell me how to upgrade my snow leopard (10.6.8) into mavericks.
I cant seem to go beyond step 1 which is to download mavericks
Thanks so much.

If you have this kind of message you should contact directly apple. This is a problem related to your account.

After Install Mavericks updates error: Update Unavailable with This Apple ID,This update is for an app downloaded with a different Apple ID. Sign in with that Apple ID and try again. ...We could not complete your request..There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (null)

I followed the directions carefully. After formatting an 8gb usb drive, the unibeast install process gets stuck at about the 90% point on the progress bar. any ideas as this happens every time.

Just installed on Asus P8H67 with *patched* BIOS
Works ONLY with NullCPUPowerManagement.kext installed
Without NullCPUPowerManagement getting kernel panic

IIRC the hardware requirement is a core 2 duo cpu (i.e. 64bit), you only have a core duo cpu. You'd need a newer hardware architecture to be able to run Mavericks. Or, in other words, you can't run it on your old machines because it is not compatible.

I have an Sapphire 7970 HD and had to switch my monitor over to the internal graphics port to do the install. Afterword, I switched back over to the 7970 and everything booted up like a charm :) I don't even have to put my Hack to sleep and turn it back on to see my desktop after boot up, it all just works!!! :D
Thanks everyone, great guide, great speed at putting out the new software, and great community!

That's great news for 79xx owners. Did you still use the usb stick to boot?

I was getting the sleeping monitor problem when trying to install from Unibeast. The combo that worked for me was:

GraphicsEnabler=Yes GraphicsMode=1920x1200x32 PCIRootUID=0 -v

I'm using a Gigabyte Z68 and Nvidia 9800GT
