U.2 SSD (PCIe) showing up in BIOS, but not macOS

Hey guys. Thanks in advance for your help.

Just installed a U.2 SSD drive with a PCIe card and Sierra isn't recognizing it, either in disk utility or Disk Sensei.

Do I have to do anything special for this to work?

I was just using the PCI slot for another card, so I know that isn't the issue.

Here's the hardware:

Edit: The card is plugged into the 2nd PCI 3.0 x16 slot - graphics card is in the 1st x16 slot. Could it be a BIOS thing?

Check around in your bios for NVME support and check to see if a bios update may address it.

Okay, updated my BIOS to latest, and it's seeing the NVMe PCIe SSD under the BIOS --> Advanced --> Generic NVMe PCIe SSD Configuration Data:

Although I don't see it in Advanced --> NVMe Configuration - but not sure if I should be:

Despite it being recognized by the BIOS, the drive still doesn't show up anywhere in macOS.

Edit: I may order a U.2 --> M.2 convertor and try that instead of PCIe.

Did you ever get this problem resolved? I'm considering putting a PM983 in a genuine Mac Pro (2012) using a U.2 -> PCIe riser, but compatibility issues such as these give me pause.

By chance does MacOS see it as a secondary drive? Also, what version of MacOS are you using? I hear Sierra is picky. High Sierra is less so, but Mojave might be the most cooperative.

I have a Sumsang Pm983 1.92t u2 with a pcie card. MSI X470 Gaming Pro Hackintosh 10.14.6 recognized it at the start , but it's easily to drop out when using

Never did, returned the drive. It could be because I'm using Sierra.
