TSSTCorp DVD not working anymore?!? (did work) [SOLVED]

hey guys,

Recently I have successfully installed Mac OS on my pc with everything working! but yesterday 1 oct. My TSST-Corp DVD stopped working...
when I put a DVD in the drive it won't be recognized by the OS.
but, it worked just fine before! no problems with it...

the drive isn't dead because I can hear it spinning when I insert a DVD/CD.
Does anyone know how to solve this prob?

What version of OSX? Are you using a patched kernel? Are you running in safe mode (-x)? Can you put an 'official' audio CD into the drive, is it recognized?

Is it recognized in any other OS?

the version of OS is 10.6.4. latest updates installed,
yeah I'm using a patched kernel, (chameleon), no I'm not running in safe mode,
no, yeah I can open the cd drive, but it won't recognize it.
I don't know if it works with a other OS because OSX is the only OS on my PC.

hi i have the exact same dvd drive and problem as you. i did lots of random stuff to make it work..so i dont really no what exactly was the solution. but i did remember changing from ahci mode to ide mode in bios and swapping sata cables . and now it works 100% . hope it helps lol. try looking

oh yea i also reinstalled IOATAFamily.kext. but make sure you know what your doing. Backup your mac before attempting to do this.

men, you're a genius! thankz to you my DVD-Drive works!
I've installed the J-Micron ATA kext, and now it works!
(I probably deleted it one time.. )
