Trying to get backlight brightness function working Asus Rog G751Jl

You should be double clicking on IORegistryExplorer.app.
Sorry if my computer seemed slow I was repairing disk permissions with cleanmymac 3

Make sure it is IORegistryExplorer v2.1.
Download the ZIP from the post linked from the FAQ.
Unzip.
Run directly from the Downloads folder.

Ok did that an no change also the only version on that page is 10.6.3

Wait after about 5 minutes of it running a window FINALLY POPPED UP like wtf?

Here it is

You have Nvidia only (no Intel graphics).
As far as I know, no solution has been published for brigthness control with 10.12.6+ and Nvidia.
I think it will have to do with injecting the right connector-type for the framebuffer connector, correct PNLF device in ACPI, and patching AppleBacklight (with an injector) similar to what we do for Intel.

Of course, implementing/experimenting with that will require someone that has the hardware in front of them and knows what they are doing.

The i7 4720HQ has HD 4600 graphics. So I'm guessing the IGPU is disabled by BIOS?
