OK thanks!

PROBLEM: I issued the following command as instructed as part of the process of making the Linux USB stick:

hdiutil convert -format UDRW -o ~/Dektop/linuxmint.img ~/Dektop/linuxmint.iso

However, I got this message:

hdiutil: convert failed - No such file or directory.

What did I do wrong? I have the file linuxmint.iso on my desktop as instructed.

Looks like a typo

Good Luck

Ha! You are so right! Thanks!

What format should the USB stick be? FAT32?

I just want to thank the original poster, Vdue, for this great guide, and the others for answering my questions. I now have triple boot working on my machine.

As a complete newbie to Linux, the partitioning part, especially the "mount points" etc., was a bit confusing and I kept getting errors as I tried to move on from partitioning to installing. However, I kept searching the internet and finally got everything figured out.

Thanks again everyone.

Do these instructions apply to Clover also?

Thanks!

Len

Yes, initial boot loader for OS X makes no difference if it is Chameleon based or Clover.

If you've got spaces in the names of your drives you can use the name reported in diskutil as "Escaped with Unicode:"
