No I see, thanks for the info. But still one request. Would you be so kind and post your multibeast settings here? Thank you in advance

For Mountain Lion: Download the DSDT from the DSDT Database, put it on your desktop, run MultiBeast with these settings, then reboot.

Tony did you install direct to 10.8.2? I installed Mountain Lion 10.8.1 and havn't upgraded to 10.8.2 yet. I am afraid to as getting Mountain Lion working was a nightmare on my desktop, which is VERY similar except mine is the UD4 instead of the UD2 same graphics though. I had to take the hard drive out and connect it to my laptop and then run the ahci patch. Does 10.8.2 break anything on this machine? It caused a couple issues on my laptop (Probook 4430s) mainly with the bluetooth kext and again the storage kext.

Just did the update and NO problems at all. Went great, I even updated using the app store. I love it when things work properly!!!

any tips for mountain lion on this build? i originally built it in early 2010 with SL, and it worked perfectly until i tried to upgrade to lion, which messed up my SL install badly. I just want to make pretty sure that it will work before I go spend $20 for the new operating system.

Hey Tony,

Thanks again for this great site! I have a similar build to yours and it's been running great since I built it back in December '09!

I'm finally getting ready to update my system from 10.7.4 to Mountain Lion 10.8.2. I've downloaded the latest version of "Install OS X Mountain Lion" from the app store and I'm ready to run UniBeast 1.5.

However, I don't know if I should select Legacy USB Support or not. From your "UniBeast: Install OS X Mountain Lion on Any Supported Intel-based PC" Guide:

14. If using a Socket 1156 system without Rate Matching Hub (RMH) USB choose Legacy USB Support

Does this mobo support RMH USB?

Thanks again for all the help over the past few years,

Bruno

Yes- The Gigabyte 1156 boards in general will need the Legacy USB option. Good luck- this system is running Mountain Lion currently, and running it well.

Thanks for the reply! Probably going to tackle this tomorrow morning.

Thanks for posting your Multibeast settings; what, if any, additional extensions do you have in your /System/Library/Extensions/ folder?

Currently, I have:

ALC8xxHDA.kext
AppleHDA.kext
AHCI_3rdParty_SATA.kext
AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext
RealtekR1000SL.kext
FakeSMC.kext
ACPIMonitor.kext
IntelCPUMonitor.kext
SuperIOFamily.kext
JMicronATA.kext

Are there any listed that I no longer need?

Finally, what smbios.plist are you using? I'm using the MacPro5,1

Thanks again,

Bruno

Hello,
I have the following setup:

GA-EP45-UD3 Rev1
Sparkle Coolpipe GT9800 512MB Passiv
Q9550

Have you also noticed that since Lion something with the graphic changed?

Sometimes I see vertical lines on some regions of the screen?
Obviously I cant make a screenshot of it nor can I photograph them, so I did a example in Fireworks (see attachment)

Do you also have such things going on since Lion ?
