I am going mad now lol.

Decided to give ElCap another go.. As always, no problem to update from Yosemite, then comes the time when I need to update the sound using Toledo's patch and badaboom, still not able to get sound on the new OS X.

From Yosemite, I updated Clover, copied SMC and LAN kexts from the 10.10 to 10.11 folder (deleted the ALC one) and edited the plist with the SIP bit under RT variables. After install completion and reboot everything works (TRIM, Imsg etc).

To enable sound, I did not edit the SIP as Tony's suggested in its initial post (http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...rect-update-os-x-el-capitan-using-clover.html) to use 0X3 which is the same value required to install the ALC kexts.

When running the command I answer all questions positively (should probably not do it as I do not use HD 4600 HDMI for audio, rather the graphic card's one but what the heck ;) ) and get the following message which seems full of errors.

and when I restart the Mac, of course there is no sound.... I do not know what I am doing wrong as I seem to be doing all the steps required but still no joy.

Anyone got stuck there? How did you solve it? Thanks !

Config.plist damaged? I use the standard one that was posted in the Yosemite Clover install.
Will download it again add MLB/ROM and ID and report back. I have read on these boards that an issue might arise if the hd name has a space, which is the case for mine (OS X) Could that be the issue?

you say it might be an issue with my plist which is corrupted, I'll trust you fully on that one but I use exactly the same plist with Yosemite and I have no issue running your patch?

Would you mind having a look at my plist (before ALC kext install)and fix it if possible?I'm not really savy when it comes to analysing plist :( I removed the MLB,ROM,SN and UUID values and added the SIP bit as shown in Tony's post

Thanks a million :)

mind having a look at my plist
Xcode/no go:

But it worked in this state with 10.9 and 10.10?
I'll make a new one and try again, I'll use the standard one as always, just adding my id's and see...

hi Toleda, here is an update:

I used a new plist, still based on the standard one from Clover install guide whit the basic arguments and added my ID's to it (MLB, ROM etc...). I installed Yosemite, enabled iMessage etc and the AL kext without any issue. To update to ElCap, I just copied the kexts from the 10.10 to the 10.11 kext folder, added the SIP values and ran the install. ElCap, installed without issue, iMessage no problem but when trying to install the sound kexts, it fails with the same error as before(only the line changed), I checked the line in question and it is the part where MLB and ROM values are added.

I am lost, why would your kext work on 10.10 without any issue but not on 10.11 with exactly the same config.plist+SIP values?

What could I try next?

Thanks !

See Post #2, same problem.
Your 10.11 RtVariable edit makes config.plist unusable. Make the edit with Xcode.

I found the error, it was about a misplaced </dict> line now audio works, now let's tackle USB... Thanks for the support :)
