Just built my first hackintosh and am having troubling issues with the TL-WDN4800 that is supposed to work out of box. Basically what happens is upon a fresh start the network seems to work fine for a while but the connection slowly deteriorates over time. I have tried two different routers and a plethora of settings on each but same issue. I have an older 24 iMac sitting right next to my machine that is working like a charm on the same network. When running speedtest.net when the computer is working i see rates close to 20Mb/s and then when it starts crapping out it's barley 2-3Mb/s. When pinging my gateway and google.com packets are dropped when trying to stream movies or skyping. This is fresh build using MultiBeast 5.2.1. Are there any patches that could fix this or any ideas out there?? :banghead:

The only thing I see in the console logs is the unknown local:
1/27/13 4:50:51.000 PM kernel[0]: 1066.956661: ATHR: unknown locale: 21

When I grep the system log for en1 it looks ok to me:
Jan 27 16:52:46 HackPro kernel[0]: en1: BSSID changed to 00:1c:df:d4:72:8c
Jan 27 16:52:46 HackPro kernel[0]: en1::IO80211Interface::postMessage bssid changed
Jan 27 16:52:46 HackPro kernel[0]: AirPort: RSN handshake complete on en1
Jan 27 16:52:49 HackPro.local configd[17]: network changed: v4(en0:192.168.2.11, en1+:192.168.1.53) DNS* Proxy SMB
Jan 27 16:52:49 HackPro.local UserEventAgent[11]: Captive: en1: Not probing 'TheSearch' (protected network)
Jan 27 16:52:49 HackPro.local configd[17]: network changed: v4(en1!:192.168.1.53, en0) DNS+ Proxy! SMB
Jan 27 16:52:51 HackPro.local configd[17]: network changed: v4(en1:192.168.1.53, en0) v6(en1+:fe80::21c:dfff:fed4:728c) DNS* Proxy SMB

I have the same problem as you describe, on a pretty different hardware system configuration. I was previously using a USB stick WiFi adaptor (some Realtek chipset) which worked fine on the same system. Wonder if there is some software config issue, as a lot of people seem to be having success with this card.

RESOLVED: Looks like after reinstalling the Atheros NIC card drivers via multibeast the NIC is behaving much better. Give it a shot and see if it works.

I still get this problem. Connection drops after a few minutes. Laptop and phone working fine so not router. Have tried re-installing Atheros drivers, restoring router to defaults, switching to 11n only, and from AES encryption to TKIP. Finally on switching to 11g only it seems to be working. Any idea why 11n won't work properly?

My system is: GA-B75M-D3H: i3-3225: Intel HD4000: TL-WDN4800
Multibeast 5.2.1 + Unibeast 1.7 + Mountain Lion 10.8.0

Does your router have the WPS feature? I had to disable this on my router as well to get my connection to be stable.

I am having the same issue. Once I start my hack internet works fine but after a while I loose my internet. Its still connected to the network but no data is streaming.

I tried everything reinstalled the driver from multibeast, unplug and reinserted the card updated my router firmware still the same. Its driving me crazy.

Thanks

This is going to be the first thing I try.

I have an Airport Extreme and I've never had an issue until I updated to 10.8.4 The connection to the router works but the internet activity just craps out.

No dice. Can't wait for a fix. Ordering a Ethernet over Powerline adaptor.

I am having the exact same issue, been using this card since I got hackintosh last year and it was working fine, until recently that is, where i'd be browsing the web and suddenly my internet isn't working, a temporary solution I have found is clicking the wifi icon and waiting for the "Looking for Wi-Fi Networks..." to finish and then my internet works fine again, also running the diagnostics in the Networking doesn't find anything wrong but also fixes my internet.

There must be a process that is running when you look for networks or run the diagnostic that fixes something temporarily, I'd love a fix for this though, very annoying issue!
