Titan Alternatives?

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to build a machine for GPU (octane) rendering primarily. I've been look at lots of GPU options and wondering what would be a reasonable alternative to getting the Titan Xs. Could I get 3 smaller cards that could do the same work?

How about 3x GTX 970 or 2x GTX 980. Will you be using OS X or Windows ?

Will those 4 GB cards do the trick? What about 2 980Tis (6 gb)?

Hope to run OSX.
