There is no Thunderbolt card that can be added to your motherboard; it needs to be "Thunderbolt-ready" (meaning it needs to have a special TB header connector, which only certain Gigabyte motherboards have).

And does any one of those motherboards works with my processor?

You have a standard Ivy Bridge processor, so if there are any Gigabyte Ivy Bridge motherboards still available that have the Thunderbolt header it shouldn't be a problem. You'll have to check with Gigabyte to see which motherboards do.

No 77 Series MOBOs with TB header

Hi, im under the impression only mobos with a thunderbolt header on the board will work with TB expansions cards. do a spec check of your board at gigabyte to find out. i ended up get a mobo with built-in thunderbolt ports, tho its a Z170 chipset and i cant test until i purchase a TB device.
