I'm wasting my time trying to get it working;
bios 2801, card inserted in pciex16_3 slot

no security
AIC LOCATION 4
SIZE 32

no way to get it visibile neither on windows / osx

I'm believing, along with customer care of asus that only works EX II not the DUAL.

anyone of you with z97a can write here if u had success?

Solved, at the end card is working only if i don't reboot but if I shut down mac no problems, card works!!

So,
for get it recognized in windows you have to check these parameters:

Go to...

Boot
Fast Boot = Disabled <<<<<< very important

Thunderbolt
Security Level = 'no security'
Wake from Thunderbolt Devices = 'Off' <<< also very important
AIC Support = 'On'
AIC LOCATION = 4
Thunderbolt PCIe Cache-line Size = '128' <- choose down to 32 if necessary SMI/Notify Support = 'On'

Ignore Thunderbolt Option Rom = 'On'

TBT Device IO resource Support = 'Off'

Reserved Mem per phy slot = '32' or up to '128'
Reserved PMem per phy slot = '32' or up to '128'

Well I've had to play something around with cache size and mem , at the end I've used 128 for every field.

Strange thing at the end in OSX is that audioboard via thunderbolt works but i don't see in sys info thunderball device showed and also it work only if i shut down and boot...no if i reboot. Or, let me explain, when i reboot it works randomly, expecially if i go back into the bios and modificate the mem & cache number.

I've read in other forum that maybe this problem is a reallocating problem?

Hi... hopefully you still reply^^ its 2019 and im sitting here with the same problem.. I got everything installed and it seems fine.. thunderbolt software is installed... i got the same settings as you.. now i will need a thunderbolt device to try if it reads.

it doesnt show in the device manager but it seems fine to me..

are you still running it with windows?

what are you using it for?

other question what exactly does

Reserved Mem per phy slot = '32' or up to '128'
Reserved PMem per phy slot = '32' or up to '128'

mean? the higher the value the more memory is reserved for that card/slot?

UP, i'm interesting too.
Is it sure that the EX II DUAL works with the Asus Z97A (classic version, not deluxe or A 3,1 USB, etc) ?

i have a ASROCK Z97 extreme 6 motherboard. I want to try a Gigabyte Thunderbolt 3 card. Will it work?
